Living Independently provides interpretations of motion sensor data inside the home. These motion data are based on changes in infrared gradients and can be caused by a wide variety of phenomena, include (but not limited to): pets, heaters, stoves, air conditioners, running water, and showers. The overwhelming amount of data collected by the LI system is generated by human movement and LI interprets these data as reflecting certain activities of daily living.
